1.
How do I view the Webcam ?
You don't need any plugins or
need to install anything to use our webcam> All you need to do is
click on the 'Webcam' link around the site. A popup window will then
load and the latest image from our studio will be shown. Please note
that due to connectivity reasons occasionally the webcam image may
be outdated, if this is the case please check back later.
WEBCAM view of 'Studio 1' live broadcast. During the meetings in the
main marquee the view will be shown of the front stage. Throughout
the day / evening the image is uploaded once every 60 seconds.

2. When I click on 'Listen Live' in top right hand corner I cannot receive
any sound:
Make sure you have
WINDOWS MEDIA installed. If you havn't - download for free from
Windows Media Player download
Try inserting the following web address into the top Internet
Explorer address
bar,
copy and paste or just click here:
http://media15.cqservers.com/newliferadio-live
(note - no 'www')
If that fails try
following:
Insert the following web address into the top Internet Explorer address bar,
copy
and paste:
mms://media15.cqservers.com/newliferadio-live
(note - no 'www')
If you use CHROME or FIREFOX browsers, there are potential problems
(as at 18th July 2010) and we hope to add some answers here shortly.
If using
With FIREFOX open click on the web address beginning http which is 6
lines above, and then click on 'open'.
2b.
I have a 'Mac' operating system
and I cannot receive any sound.
Firstly try inserting the web address
as in answer '2' above into the Safari address bar, copying and pasting the web address.
If that does not work then we suggest
following: Microsoft have
partnered with a Mac digital media company called Telestream to use
their product flip4mac which provides "Windows Media Components for
QuickTime, by Flip4MacT, you can play Windows Media files (.wma and
.wmv) directly in QuickTime Player and view Windows Media content on
the Internet using a Web browser."
It can be downloaded

Using that you should be able to receive the radio on Safari (the
native Mac browser) but not with Firefox. For it to work with Safari
you need to use the URL provided in answer
'2' above.

I can receive sound but it breaks up after a few seconds:
The usual reason is the 'bandwidth' of the internet connection of
your computer and nearly always happens with 'dial up'.
Don't
view the web cam at the same time as listening.
Set up broadband ready for our next broadcast!

I am listening to the broadcast when the sound and or/ website
connection disconnects:
Reasons we have discovered during our 2 week broadcast include:
A - A complete power failure - rare - but it does happen. (we are
out 'in the sticks!')
2007 broadcast the local 3 phase power
supply was lost for about 20 minutes
2008 30th July 1045 hrs

4 minutes
Therefore supply to operate studio or transmitting tower.
B - The local ISP Internet goes down, connection lost.
Or The 'Streaming' company site in the USA goes down,
connection is lost.
2009 - 'Internet Outages' Sat 25th July x 2 drop
outs x few minutes
Sun 26th July 0734 hrs 5 minutes
Mon 27th July several stoppages of 5 minutes each
Thu 30th July outage from 1913 to 2003 hrs
Sun night Mon am 2nd/3rd overnight outage
2010 -
D - 'In House' technical failure. Rare.
E - Webcam goes down - yes, we do experience problems but not too
often,
usually noticed within minutes.
F - Don't forget to 'refresh' your page if the connection and/or
webcam goes down.

What bit rate/streams
configuration do you use for Internet broadcast ?
Our Hosting company requires us to Windows Media Stream through
Windows Media Encoder, We send out at a bit rate of 132 kbps for
broadband and 37 kbps for dial up. Your computer automatically
configures the correct speed on connection.
6.
What radios can I use to
receive NEW LIFE RADIO FM ? Digital Dab ?
Apart from the Internet we only
broadcast on FM.
FM Radios: Mains, Portables, Car radios.

Monitoring-
We always appreciate those who 'monitor' NEW LIFE RADIO during the
broadcast. Your geographical place of reception (FM and
internet), quality of reception reports, other comments are
extremely helpful to us and noted down when you call.
Phone, text or
e mail.
If you are having problems receiving our FM broadcast try the
following. If you can receive it on your car radio near or outside
your house, then a radio inside the house should be able to receive
the signal. If possible try the radio in the house in a different
room. Try a length of wire added to the telescopic aerial. Share
your television aerial plug/wire with a special 'splitter' socket
obtainable from Maplin or other electrical supplier. This makes the
television aerial split the signal to your television and supply an
FM signal. Or fix up a dedicated FM aerial inside or out. If you

8. Can I
obtain copies of any of the programmes ? yes and no...
A. Yes - for Conference Meetings (and previous years).

B. No - music and other items are copyright and although we
have to record everything for broadcast regulations, it is not possible to supply copies.

Yes, contact us with your
request details and we would be pleased to arrange it. You may also send us the
details before our broadcast starts and we will insert into the
schedule.

Lower tower. pack away all
equipment including about 2 km cables. Begin to service all
equipment. Prepare for the next year.
